      Verdict

      Platitude never threatened when placed in Listed company at Salisbury but is expected to finish closer in this. But CYMRIC appeared to win a conditions race at Sandown with plenty in hand and this longer trip should suit the Gosden colt. The latter has a bit to spare on today's terms with course and distance maiden winner Lazzam and Goodwood runner-up Essenaitch while both Viren's Army and Dragon Mall will need to show improvement to get involved. Il Piccolo Grande has little chance at the weights.
