In depth

Verdict

Most of these are stepping up in trip but ANIMAL INSTINCT won over course and distance in October. Gelded subsequently and with further progress expected making his handicap debut, Sir Mark Prescott’s charge gets the vote. Juan Les Pins finished runner-up over 7f at Kempton last year without threatening but Hamish Macbeth has something to prove on the evidence of an earlier attempt at the trip. Huraiz and Endowed have both won over 6f and there was little between them at Newmarket recently but the Godolphin colt Historic hasn’t raced for over a year though should still be noted in the betting.
