In depth

Verdict

Grendisar should be sharper for a recent run in Turkey but is penalised for winning the Listed Winter Derby Trial back in February. Brocklebank is weighted to reverse earlier running with the former but has not raced since January and Fire Fighting has raced 20 times this year with just the one win at Redcar back in May. MERRITT ISLAND had only won a couple of low grade handicaps before running well in Listed company in France and should go close on today's terms off her new mark. She gets a tentative vote with Bint Dandy and Red Avenger harder to fancy though the well regarded Flaming Spear could prove a bigger threat if staying the trip on his first start since May.
