chased leaders on outside, weakened entering final 2f
made all, clear final furlong, ran on well, unchallenged
chased winner, ridden one pace and no impression when lost 2nd final 100 yards
went right start, outpaced in last pair, modest 4th under pressure over 1f out, never on terms
upset in stalls, slowly away and lost 10 lengths, well in rear, headway and on heels of leaders halfway, ridden in 3rd 2f out, switched right over 1f out, stayed on into 2nd final 100 yards, not recover
POETIC IMAGINATION was beaten only a neck over 6f here last time for John Gosden. Purchased at last week’s sales, she’s take to make a winning start for new connections. She should have the measure of Angel of The South on these terms but Sugar Coating may prove a threat. The latter showed promise at Wolverhampton on her debut, despite failing to threaten the winner, and she can figure with normal progress. The remaining pair have shown little so far and are hard to recommend.
