      Verdict

      Mailshot won over track and trip in March but has struggled in better company since. He’s still preferred to stablemate Election Day while Tricorn defied a 10lb rise to win at Newmarket last time but has been hit with a further 11lb hike as he bids for a four-timer. City Of Joy made a winning return at Doncaster and is upped in class off a 5lb higher mark but Areen Heart ran well in this grade at Chester last time. SULTAN BAYBARS hasn’t raced since November but an earlier four length defeat in the Group 3 Horris Hill at Newbury gives him every chance on his reappearance and Roger Varian’s charge gets the nod having been gelded over the winter.
