ALZAMMAAR, three times a winner on the level, made a very satisfactory start over fences when beaten a short-head at Carlisle and this slightly longer trip is in his favour. DIVINE SPEAR won a Class 3 Fontwell handicap over hurdles in December and raced exclusively at a higher level subsequently and was placed in three of his four starts. His pedigree is all about jumping fences and this can prove a winning start. Valgor Du Ronceray, a winning bumper and hurdler in Ireland, didn't get far on his chasing bow at Wetherby while Ramonex, a novice hurdle winner at Perth in April, was beaten a very long way on his chasing bow at Warwick.
