This is a trappy maiden and we will nominate Grudge to get the better of Paddy Jack and Le Toreador. The selection shaped with plenty of promise considering it was his first run after a seven-month break and he was 3lb out of the handicap when he finished in mid-division in a race won by Hamish McGonagall at York last time. He showed plenty of speed that day and he should put in a bold show today. Paddy Jack disappointed last time over 7f, but he had previously shown plenty of promise over this trip and he could be worth another chance. Le Toreador looked a smart colt last season and although he was well beaten in a handicap on his seasonal return, he should come on plenty for that outing. Bishopbriggs ran well for a long way at Wolverhampton last time, but he tackles this trip for the first time and it may be a little on the sharp side for him. This looks a good opportunity for Grudge who can build on his encouraging return to action last time out.
