Baron Spikey's recent second place on this track came in a lowly seller and he looks held while Seven Lucky Seven has been running poorly in low-grade handicaps, mainly on the all-weather. JOHNNY B GOODE is comfortably the best in on official ratings and is taken to add to his two victories last summer though both were on ground with a bit of give which he won't get here. Kyrenia Castle won a seller at Redcar in May and that's probably his level.
Seven Lucky Seven 7-2fav (9-10) Slowly away, in rear, hampered over 2f out, no chance after, 8th of 12, 15 1/2l behind Red Cape (9-1) at Wolverhampton 6f hcp (6) pol in Jul.
Johnny B Goode (IRE) 9-2 (8-11) Prominent, went 2nd over 2f out, ridden and not much room over 1f out, one pace, 3rd of 8, 5 1/2l behind Go Dan Go (9-13) at Carlisle 7f hcp (4) gs in Jul.
Kyrenia Castle (GER) 11-2 (9-0) With leader, ridden over 2f out, kept on same pace, no impression with winner when lost 2nd inside final furlong, 3rd of 10, 7l behind Sugar Lump (9-2) at Redcar 7f stks (5) gf in Jun.
Baron Spikey (IRE) 8-1 (8-9) Raced wide in mid-division, pushed along over 3f out, headway on wide outside 2f out, chased leaders over 1f out, stayed on under pressure inside final furlong, not reach winner, 2nd of 13, 1 1/2l behind I'm Super Too (9-8) at Beverley 7f stks (6) gf in Jul.
