        In depth

        Verdict

        Thrust Control last got his head in front when winning this contest in 2013 and finished well behind Smalljohn when the latter was runner-up at Musselburgh earlier in the month. Armelle ran well over 6f here a fortnight ago but remains 11lb higher than when scoring at Redcar in August so MERCERS ROW is preferred. The latter's only victory of last year came over track and trip off a 3lb higher mark but Karen Tutty's charge has a recent run under his belt. Major Muscari may prove best of the rest back over 7f today.
