In depth

Verdict

From a shortlist of Colonial Girl, Bahara and Rosapenna in this race, we will side with Rosapenna. The selection has been second in each of her last two races to improving types in Guildenstern (on the all-weather) and Tom Forest (on Turf). The latter effort was achieved from a rating of 70, a mark that is certainly good enough to make her the leading player in this maiden. Colonial Girl is better than her finishing position last time suggests as she missed the break. She is maybe not entirely straightforward but, even so, has more than enough form to be given a good chance today. Bahara, who ran Namir to a neck on her debut but disappointed last time over today's trip, looks best of the others, those others needing to improve on what they have so far shown to play a meaningful part in today's race. So, once again, for the selection, we return to Rosapenna.
