Verdict
Eton has claims on the form shown when successful at Pontefract two starts ago but that was over 1m2f and the David Nicholls-trained gelding does not really get home over today's trip so preference is for Rare Coincidence, who gets the vote ahead of Tojoneski. The last mentioned has shown promise in his last two starts, latterly over 1m2f, but is another who is far from certain to stay this trip and is probably best watched this afternoon. The three-year-old Calfraz was not disgraced behind the progressive Michaels Pride at Redcar last time and has to be respected along with Sooyou Sir, who represents the in-form stable of Anne Duffield. Glenviews Surlami is another worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Rare Coincidence for who there are no problems about the trip and for who a reproduction of recent form may well suffice in a poor contest where all of the jockeys are looking to gain their first ever success.
