In depth

Verdict

Soft ground would not be ideal for last month’s Chelmsford winner Grand Inquisitor and he still hasn’t proved conclusively that he stays 2m. Mirsaale takes a huge drop in class but he’s not been firing lately and has always been a little quirky. DR RICHARD KIMBLE has barely raised a gallop since returning to the Flat but he may find these conditions to his liking and was showing promise over timber at the start of the year. Aidan Redpath’s claim could help him back into the winner’s enclosure. Windy Writer is fit from hurdling but 0-22 in career starts and making his Flat debut at the age of nine.
