        Verdict

        The waters have been muddied by a number of newcomers to the track and we are with WHISPERING SPIRIT at the expense of Prince Maggio and Camomile. Ann Duffield's charge appears to be better with a bit of give in the ground but with the forecast not that of baking hot temperatures, we are prepared to chance that she will be able to get away with it this afternoon. The booking of Paul Hanagan for Prince Maggio is impressive. Regrettably, the draw is not. Camomile carries the famous Guy Reed colours. Surprisingly, the owner has had very few winners at this course in recent years. Unconsoled cut no ice in Ireland and makes a British debut for James Hetherton. Skybob has a fascinating pedigree as a son of Tobougg and out of Pistolet Bleu mare. The market will doubtless give its own interpretation. A hard race without reference to the market and in the absence of such vital information, Whispering Spirit has to be the call.
