Verdict

Scotswell won this last year off a 7lb lower mark and a recent spin over hurdles will have benefited Harriet Graham's front-runner. Pinerolo never figured 12 months ago but Barton Gift was close up when slipping up between fences off the home turn and can race off the same mark. He was, however, 12 lengths behind West Of The Edge in the Lincolnshire National at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. Silver Tassie was unlucky last time at Ayr as he'd just hit the front when reaching for the last and paying the price. Beeves had Lackamon behind when second at Doncaster last month while Nail 'm has travelled up from Devon and arrives off the back of a second at Exeter over a similar trip. Jac The Legend is another with decent claims and Valleyofmilan has developed a liking for this track but there should be more to come from ALTO DES MOTTES. Only six, he made light of testing conditions at Newcastle last month and the runner-up franked the form at Doncaster last week. He can reverse earlier course running with Valleyofmilan and land this.
