In depth

Verdict

Gohh showed big improvement last time and can account for Waltzing Along, Donovan and Prince Adjal. In truth none of these would go down in anyone's list of horses to follow, but Mick Easterby had a winner over fences on Tuesday with Bang and Blame and hopefully Gohh can carry on the good work. The 10-year-old had shown little until finishing a close second at Sedgefield on Boxing Day with a rival rated 17lbs superior back in third. He was successful both in bumper company and over hurdles a few years ago and is taken to make up for lost time today. Waltzing Along was unlucky on his final start at Kelso in 2004, stumbling at the final fence when leading, and he will come on for his first outing since at Musselburgh in November when he would have been unsuited by the fast ground. Donovan has gone off the boil a bit judged on his last two efforts, but remains better treated than over hurdles so has to be respected, while Prince Adjal has been a bit too keen and just needs to settle more. All in all, on latest evidence, the finger points to Gohh.
