Walter Easterby rode a 25/1 winner of this a year ago but CARLTON RYAN is likely to be at short odds despite only scrambling home in a similar event at Leicester. He'd been progressing really well between the flags previously and should defy his penalty. Forge Valley could only finish fourth in this a year ago and is at the veteran stage so won't be getting any better but Fureys Bar has done reasonably well between the flags since arriving from Ireland. Scots Gaelic was a decent hurdler once upon a time but has shown nothing for a very long time but French Seventyfive, a winner over hurdles last summer, would be a threat if the ground dried out. Comedinewithme has been making great strides between the flags and, if transferring that form to regulation fences, looks certain to get into the frame.
