In depth

Verdict

A big field but plenty of deadwood though SILVER SHUFFLE (NAP) scored over track and trip in August. He's 6lb higher today but has subsequently gone close again at Musselburgh and looks up to winning again off his current mark. Shirls Son Sam was beaten less than a length at Newcastle last time but has yet to score in 39 attempts and recent course runner-up Aristocratic Duty is preferred though she has yet to run over this longer trip. Kirkman was placed off a higher mark at Thirsk in July and Crakehall Lad posted his best effort of the year so far when runner-up over track and trip back in May.
