Verdict

POLITBUREAU won over hurdles at Newcastle in February and continued winning ways back on the Flat at Redcar last month. He gets the nod to go in again despite third-placed Jan Smuts and the fourth Downtown Boy re-opposing on better terms. The latter has since gone very close over 1m4f at Newcastle and looks the main threat to the selection ahead of the likes of Weybridge Light and Surround Sound, who have been thereabouts on the all-weather of late without looking like winning.
