Verdict

Eased in grade, KANSAS CITY CHIEF (NAP) landed a gamble at Doncaster last week with the minimum of fuss. Neil Mulholland boast a 60 per cent strike-rate with his hurdlers here and he puts up 5lb claimer James King to help offset his charge’s penalty and welter burden so a follow-up looks to be on the cards. Planet Nine steps up in trip on his handicap debut but should be suited. Niceandeasy was an early casualty when tried over 3m at Ayr two runs ago but was also placed on this course last time. Dark Sunset won at Doncaster in December, her third win over timber, but the second and third were the proverbial country mile behind the selection last week.
