In depth

Verdict

Zeitgeist is expected to land a maiden victory with Serbelloni and Dancing Partner appearing the dangers. Howard Johnson and Graham Wylie have teamed up with another flat recruit and if taking to the obstacles, Zeitgeist has the potential to go far in this sphere. A winner of 4 flat races in 13 starts, he was last seen out when finishing fifth in the Ebor Handicap at York. Serbelloni will need to give away a winners penalty. Officially rated in the mid-70s on the flat, he made light work of a decent field at Kelso and should give another good account of himself. Dancing Partner has one piece of bumper form that stands up to examination. That being a second to Fairytale of New York at Market Rasen. Panzer had middle distance form for Roger Charlton prior to joining the McCain team. A pleasing debut at Doncaster suggests that a small race awaits. Step Perfect would need to reverse that form in order to be competitive. Etching went relatively cheaply through the sales to Wilf Storey. She may need further if she takes to the winter game. Zeitgeist is selected in the hope that he can transfer his flat ability to hurdles.
