Factoring in his rider's allowance and Nephite is back on a winning mark and he might be up to landing this. Flahive's First won this race last year from a 16lb-lower mark but has won from a mark only one pound lower than today's - if you include his rider's seven-pound claim - and, at a track he loves, can go well. The admirable Xaipete is not far off a winning mark and he too is a course winner. Billie John is six pounds higher after a deserved Sedgefield win, although he does take the odd liberty with his fences. Minster York has dropped to a winning mark, but Heraclitean Fire, still a maiden, fell here on Saturday. Irish winner Fidalus has a big absence to overcome. Pharbeitfrome is six pounds better off with Billie John for the two lengths he finished behind that one at Sedgefield. Risky Way has shown that he can win from this mark but subsequent runs from his February Catterick success have been disappointing.
