FOG PATCHES could produce an emotional success for Lucinda Russell as he was the last winner that Campbell Gillies rode before his untimely death. The six-year-old has been put up 9lb by the handicapper for victory at Hexham, but his style of racing suggests that he will act at Cartmel and he secures the nod. Civil Servant faced a tough task at Worcester although the winner has gone on to oblige since. Unfortunately, the third was well turned over at the same meeting so it will be fascinating to see what view the bookmakers place upon the form. Why Are You Asking had shown nothing until finishing second at Sedgefield in May, and the winner and the third were winners next time out. Colditz has gone up a full 15lb since winning at the track in August though he raced with plenty of zest on a recent hurdles outing.
