Competitive fare with both Forty Crown and Gwladys Street seeking hat-tricks. Preference is for the former who appears better treated by the official assessor and arguably has greater scope for further progress over hurdles. However, John Wade's improving gelding is taken on with HANNAH JACQUES who had been progressing very nicely over timber prior to pulling up at Haydock in Listed grade on heavy ground in December. Nicky Richards' mare will be far more at home on this better ground dropped back in to handicap company and hopefully will have benefited from her subsequent break. Keep an eye on Mary Milan too as Malcolm Jefferson's lightly-raced sort makes her handicap bow here off an acceptable mark. Throw in a considerable step-up in trip and better ground and she is definitely one to keep on the right side. She would be even more interesting should the market speak significantly in her favour.
