In depth

Verdict

Several are penalised for winning. Gaston Phebus scored over track and trip on his reappearance and the more-exposed Ulverston won at Uttoxeter last month. The mare Legends Ryde has won at Ffos Las but returned a losing favourite at Bangor last time so HONOR GREY (NAP) looks the one to side with. A close-up fourth at Exeter on his hurdling debut, the third has won subsequently so Ben Pauling’s charge gets the vote on that form with further progress expected. Bumper winner Wetlands is another likely improver and preferred of the rest.
