A poor contest where everything looks exposed and caution is advised and we will take RECKLESS VENTURE to score, while Deuteronomy looks a danger. The selection comes from a yard that has had a couple of recent winners, and although he has to produce a career best to win this, the same goes for all his opponents. Trip and ground suit him well and as he showed a bit of a return to form last time we will suggest him. Deuteronomy will be popular with punters after a decent run at Wetherby last time out and he too loves it bottomless. A 6lb rise for that latest run looks a bit harsh but he has the ability to get involved again today. Dawn Ride acts on the ground and won over this trip at Newcastle in February but still looks a shade too high in the weights, while Ballynure's chance would seem improved if Toy Gun has by now won the opening race on the card, after he finished 12 lengths clear of that rival over a similar trip at Hexham in the spring. Teenando looks in need of a favour from the assessor but in this contest nothing has the look of a big surprise if winning, though we think it might just be Reckless Venture.
