Bryden Boy only won a maiden hurdle at Bangor at the start of the month but went close in a handicap off a similar mark last term and should be in the mix. BARAKA DE THAIX was rated 12lb higher as recently as November and posted a better effort over track and trip just 10 days ago when a distance clear of the rest in second. David Pipe's charge may prove good enough today given Bruce Almighty has something to prove now raised 15lb after finishing runner-up at Hexham in November. Pekanheim continues to tumble down the weights and may need good ground before he's seen back at his best.
