In a tricky concluding race, ex-point-to-point winner Bobby Donald is the tentative choice ahead of Skippers Brig, Roll On and Les Baux Belle. The selection was last seen staying on well to win a point-to-point and is taken to translate his ability to today's flat race. However, support for any of the newcomers would be well heeded and thus a keen eye should be kept on the market. Skippers Brig holds the best bumper form after finishing second to Phardessa back in April, whilst Les Baux Belle's second to Amaretto Rose has been franked by the winners ready success at Towcester twelve days ago. He must surely rate a danger if stripping fit after nine months off the racetrack. Role On will be seen to better effect over obstacles and a longer trip, but can not be ruled out hailing from his powerful stable. However for the winner we return to Richard Phillips' Bobby Donald, the only runner that he sends north on the long journey from his Gloucestershire base.
