      Verdict

      POWERFUL SYMBOL went for £60,000 at the sales after landing a point-to-point on heavy going at Tattersalls Farm by twenty lengths. He can make a successful start under Rules though Reivers Lad looks a big threat. Nicky Richards' charge made a promising debut on testing ground at Ayr where he looked in need of the experience and should find a race before too long. Our Morris finished a long way behind in that latter event and Paddling never showed at Catterick in December.
