With the top horse rated at 89 this isn't a race to get carried away with but something has to win and maybe that horse will be THE MAYSTONE who gets the token vote to beat Editors Rose and Polobury. Our selection ran on well to take third last time and he's gone well over course and distance in the past. The chief concern is that prior to his good run he'd been pulled up on three consecutive occasions so he has to prove he's capable of building on it and for that reason stakes are best kept small. Editors Rose was in the process of running a fair race last time before unseating Graham Lee and could go close off the same mark if jumping better. She'd probably have beaten Polobury and Shulmin that day were it not for the incident and does seem to act well on soft ground. Of the aforementioned pair it was Polobury who came out on top in taking third and, off a 3lb lower mark, she can put in another solid round of jumping and take a hand in proceedings. Shulmin drops 8lbs but should still be behind her old rival, so of more interest is Billsgrey with Ryan Mania to help. Willie Amos' charge ran reasonably last time suggesting a very poor race may come his way and, if nothing else, this is a very poor race. That said, it might go to The Maystone who arrives at least in reasonable form.
