A few have been knocking on the door and ALKETIOS makes most appeal of those in decent heart. Chris Gordon has secured the services of talented apprentice Jason Watson, whose 5lb claim makes his partner look rather attractively treated on the back of solid efforts in amateur contests the last twice. The selection also ran a sound race here when fourth last summer and is now 3lb lower. Junoesque is better than recent form figures might suggest and is respected alongside Vodka Pigeon and Grasmere, both of whom remain open to further improvement at this modest level. However, the main threat may prove to be Watch Tan, in fair form before disappointing last time but interestingly back in action just five days later - market support would be significant.
