An open handicap and narrow preference is for the consistent if somewhat unspectacular White Moss ahead of Bluebelle Dancer and Smash N'Grab. It is hard to make a foolproof case for any of the 16 runners but with the prospect of four places to play for, the hope is that White Moss can break his duck at the tenth time of asking or at least run into a place. Mark Tompkins has his stable in good form and with jockey Jimmy Quinn also in amongst the winners of late, White Moss is taken to score. Smash N'Grab comes here in good form following on from a narrow victory at Kempton. Unfortunately for supporters he has to race off a higher mark today and thus is easier to pass over. Surprise Act could be one now seen in handicap company off a mark of 57 although the drop in trip will need to bring about improvement, whilst Winged Farasi doesnt have the greatest of strike-rates but if the ground dries out then he would have claims on the pick of his form. Kassuta is yet to win in 12 starts but having tumbled drastically in the weights he may run better than in previous outings. Bluebelle Dancer is another who has been given some slack by the handicapper and shouldn't be put out by a step back up in trip. An open race then, and narrow preference is for White Moss.
