In depth

Verdict

THUNDEROAD scored over track and trip last month with plenty in hand and stablemate Cafe Sydney well behind. An apprentice’s allowance negates a rise in the weights and Tony Carroll’s charge can go in again. Summer Valley won here back in June and an apprentice’s claims also gives her a chance. She’s preferred to Cuban Cigar while both Shielded and Coupe De Champagne are looking to put poor efforts behind them with the former stepping up in trip.
