In the finale, the vote goes to Carry On Doc ahead of Franksalot and Samuel Charles. The selection has run only once outside of maiden company, when beating De Pre here over a mile. Given that the runner-up has since won and run well in a Newbury handicap from a mark of 74, the form looks solid enough and he should go well. His first foray into handicap company saw him running on at Haydock, and he can be rated better than that. Franksalot goes well here, having won twice from four starts, and is also 11 pounds better off with Ziet d'Alsace for having beaten her a length-and-a-quarter over course and distance in June. Another runner with fair course form is Samuel Charles, who, apart from his latest run, has proven very consistent. With Brave Dane having won at no less than nine furlongs, and Our Gamble having proven disappointing since winning as a juvenile, we turn out attention, once again, to Carry On Doc, who gets our vote in this Classified Stakes race.
