Verdict

Strathspey is a confident selection to take a moderate contest, with Thorntoun Gold and Mister Clinton the others worthy of consideration. The selection ran a cracker behind Lyrical Way last time, and although Strathspey once again has the burden of a big weight, he is in good heart at present and will take a good deal of beating. Mister Clinton is not straightforward and has been upped 3lb's for a decent effort at Salisbury last time, but is capable of running a big race if he is on a going day. Thorntoun Gold is due a win but supporters of this horse will have to forgive a disappointing effort at Brighton last time. Of the rest, Piquet could have good each-way claims at a decent price, but Strathspey is in good form and we are confident that this Chris Wall charge can overcome a big weight concession all round to take this contest.
