Quite a decent contest to close the card and Aglaophonos is likely to be popular for Roger Varian on his first venture into handicap company after revealing promise in more than one maiden. He may well be good enough off a fair mark but THIS IS NICE won well here at the end of May, acquitted herself in decent fashion behind Ghanaian at Salisbury and was then just inched out in a messy Chepstow race. That's a decent profile and she may offer better value than the Varian charge. Lionheart has been disappointing, the consistent The Black Jacobin has claims and it would not surprise to see Sir Mark Prescott eke further improvement from North Pole .
