Whatwouldyouknow, who completed a double here and at Wolverhampton, ran poorly when strongly fancied for a hat-trick at Lingfield but that wasn't his form. Procida, who started off in a point-to-point, ran well here last time and looks progressive despite her age while Warrior’s Spirit won one of these at Carlisle under Tom Midgley and, though that was over a mile, he should have no problems with the extra. Broughtons Story doesn’t win very often but will get a good ride from George Eddery but John Caesar, who won this in 2016, has been in poor form. VENTURA CREST has never won and is very inconsistent but perhaps this sort of race will suit and he has Emily Easterby to do the steering so he’s handed a speculative vote. Palindrome is another who can go well under Becky Smith.
