        Verdict

        HOOFALONG looks to have leading claims despite his long absence. He made his debut in much better company at York back in May when finding only one too good and Mick Easterby's colt is fancied to make a winning return. Milkwood is improving with every run and has every chance on his third at Pontefract last month but Palladius makes less appeal as he was still beaten five lengths when second over C&D in July. Bernardino will need to step up on his form to date but may well do so while Gold Beau finished a creditable third in a handicap over track and trip last time and should be thereabouts.
