        Verdict

        NEWGATE ANGEL has won over the track and trip and defied a long absence to score at Catterick earlier this month for which she's only been raised 2lb. Muatadel loves fast ground and has won twice here but six-times all-weather winner Blackcurrent has yet to reach a place in nine starts on Turf. Gorgeous General, seven-times a winner on the all-weather, is still a maiden after 13 starts on Turf. Tom Tulliver was well supported at Catterick last week but never got close enough to challenge though this is a much stiffer track. Redcar winner Stanley Snugfit has only raced against his own age group and is 10lb higher than his victory.
