Trip and ground suit Rising Force, who looks good enough to take this poor contest from Penel, while Dark Charm and Active Asset can get involved. Rising Force was not far away over 12f at Newbury a week or so ago and that was a good effort when considering that the trip is probably beyond his best. The drop back to 10f here will be a plus, and although he needs a career best to win at the weights he looks capable of producing it with doubts over the others. Penel has finished runner-up over a mile on his last two starts. He handles this track well enough and has a decent draw, so if he can see out the trip then he should go close. Dark Charm and Active Asset are both distance winners and the latter is way below his last winning mark now and if putting his best foot forward would be an attractive proposition, but he is hard to fancy on recent efforts. Dark Charm has also slipped to a handy mark and is from a yard going well, though he is arguably better over a mile and with little else making appeal we'll take Rising Force to score.
