In depth

Verdict

Bond Boy, Melalchrist and Bo McGinty are three against the field in a tough race to call for punters and the narrow vote is given to Bond Boy. The selection was given a poor ride when only fourth behind Highland Warrior but he remains weighted to win and from a good draw he is given one last chance to get his head in front. Melalchrist rates the main danger as he was an unlucky in running fourth behind The History Man last time out. If he gets a clear run here he will not be far away under conditions that suit. Bo McGinty is another that could go well on his best form but he is becoming expensive to follow and again he looks vulnerable. King's College Boy is another with place claims but this hold up performer needs everything to drop right and at likely odds he looks worth taking on. Of the remainder Hotham's best form is on a faster surface while Ryedale Ovation has dropped to a handy mark and could go well at a price but for the winner we return to Bond Boy.
