DIMASHQ is recommended for a speculative punt. Kochanski, Carlton Mac and York Cliff are forwarded as contenders for the shortlist. York Cliff is an old hand in sellers and claimers and can usually be relied upon to give his all. As he is winless since last summer, he has been expensive to follow of late, though. Carlton Mac bounced back to form in this grade at Catterick nine days ago and can be a threat - even under a 6lb penalty. He does, however, have a good bit to find with the selection from their encounter at Ripon in June so needs luck on his side. Kochanski brushed aside Saffron's Son here last month and can be fancied to at least uphold that form. He was a shade disappointing at Brighton eight days ago but, having proved he is effective at this track; Kochanski would be dangerous to rule out. However, Dimashq has been holding his form in better races than this and the seven-year-old is forwarded as one to make the most of today's ease in grade.
