In depth

Verdict

Crystal Guard, runner-up in a Brighton maiden handicap, started favourite when tried over 1m6f at Nottingham but didn't stay and this should be his trip. Outback Boy ran poorly on fast ground at Pontefract and may need more rain but RICHES AND RUBIES has been staying on over shorter and this small field should enable her to get the trip. She gets the nod as the beautifully-bred Jack Kennedy showed little for the Gosdens and makes his handicap debut for new connections. Yukon has had enough chances but Bryanwood may improve for the step up in trip.
