        Verdict

        CARANBOLA is a standing dish around here and is just 2lb higher than when gaining his fifth C&D victory in August. A couple of runs in April over 6f will have put him straight and Paul Mulrennan can steer him to another success. The locally trained Northern Bolt is probably better over an extra furlong as is Prince James, who just caught him at Catterick in April and though Select Committee is running well he's 8lb higher than when scoring here in September. The veteran Tabaret hasn't been in the best of form but he's dropped significantly in the weights and it would be no surprise to see a big run, a remark that also applies to Befortyfour, another who has dropped a long way in the weights and looked on the way back at Kempton last time.
