Canny Tom had shown only moderate form before well supported at Tipperary though he got no further than the second. Effernock Lad won this last year and is 6lb higher but arrives in top form having ploughed through the Sligo mud for a hard-fought victory three weeks ago. Venture Lazarus bounced back to form at Tramore and is just 5lb higher but it's about time FIOSRACH was winning again and Denis Hogan has his horses firing on all cylinders so last week's Kilbeggan runner-up gets the nod. Black Label and Konig Hall are consistent enough at this level and are others to consider.
