Verdict

GEE REX, a dual Flat winner, twice finished runner-up in Leopardstown maidens before starting odds-on at Ballinrobe but was well beaten. That wasn't his form and he can bounce back. Grozni won a Market Rasen bumper then appeared to find 2m4f stretching his stamina at Hexham and like Kendancer, a winner on the Flat in France who has shown potential over hurdles, is penalised. Karakhan was well supported and still in the lead when running out at the last at Clonmel so backers will be looking for compensation. Highstreet Roller was narrowly beaten at Downpatrick before well beaten into second at Punchestown but Hophornbeam showed much improved form at Clonmel and can get into contention.
