In depth

Verdict

EXPRESSO STAR has been found a decent opportunity in which to open his account and he's preferred to Holden Eagle and Hall Hee. The selection ran well on debut to finish in front of a number of subsequent winners and the form of his close up Newmarket fourth also reads well enough in the context of this race and he should take all the beating. Holden Eagle caught the eye on his third start before again finishing strongly on his handicap bow. He should be finishing strongly again and is feared. Hall Hee contested a hot maiden at Newmarket last time and was firmly put in her place but her debut effort at Goodwood gives her every chance in this company and it would be no surprise to see her play a leading role. Institute was a warm order to open his account last time and he may prove that running to be all wrong in time but couldn't be confidently selected on the back of it. Lease Of Life and Mubrook are well bred newcomers from big yards but it would be no great surprise were they to prove in need of this initial experience and Expresso Star appeals more.
