In depth

Verdict

Sheer Rocks had only two rivals at Chepstow and will struggle to give 3lb to FIRTH OF CLYDE. The form of the latter’s debut at Newbury could not have worked out much better and he has been desperately unlucky not to have opened his account in three subsequent outings. Casi Crudo is definitely worth a market check being a half-brother to five winners, four of them trained by Mark Johnston who saddled the winner of this 12 months ago. Royal Rift and Speycaster are both likely improvers.
