Star Caliber has run six times this year and finished last in four of those but Wonder Starelzaam won twice on Turf last year and was successful on Polytrack in March. Calypso has only finished out of the frame once in seven career starts and is fitted with cheekpieces today. Damascus Steel won at Windsor in May and at Nottingham last month while Shazam found only one too good when on a hat-trick at Newmarket at the start of the month. The going is an unknown but something was clearly amiss with GALLIMIMUS at Lingfield four weeks ago. Just beaten over track and trip previously, he gets another chance.
