In depth

Verdict

Ron Harris runs three here with Night Traded back in this grade for the first time since scoring at Ffos Las in July. Wednesday's C&D second Diamond Vine also has claims, however, while Milton Bradley, David Evans and John Spearing are other trainers with more than one entry. Whitecrest, representing the latter, is usually thereabouts and Richard Hughes rides Cockney Fire for Evans. Tony Newcombe also has two runners and his MY METEOR is the one burdened with the selection as he has a terrific record here and, just as importantly, will bounce off the fast ground having got bogged down at Ffos Las a week ago. Roger Charlton's three-year-old Supreme Quest is also worth a second look, however, along with Swendab but Friday's Brighton winner Button Moon may struggle under a penalty.
