Verdict

Leroy Leroy was beaten less than a length when only fifth in a bunch finish at Epsom but Anmaat went close at Newbury on his handicap debut and makes more appeal. WESTERN ALLIANCE ran well in novice company at the same Newbury fixture when runner-up under a penalty. The winner has gone in again since and Clive Cox’ colt can improve further now handicapping. Lingfield winner Ridgeway failed to cope with a 10lb rise in this grade at Ripon last time.
